VIBES & BUBBLE: FEEL THE FAITH
One thing I can say about this event is VIBESSSSSS. The title did not lie!
FAITH: THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR & EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN.
This event was created and planned by Faith, a soulful singer, songwriter based in Cardiff, who was a contestant on The Voice 2016. Faith has a beautifully strong, powerful voice with a soulful tone. She has recently been listed as an artist on BBC Radio Wales’s Welsh A-list and a few months ago perfomed on BBC One for Children in Need. You can hear Faith’s smooth vocals on her new single Forever Moments, recently released with visuals. She describes the concept of the interlude ‘Forever Moments’ as ‘a short indefinite period of time’.

THE EVENT - BRINGING CARDIFF LIVE MUSIC SCENE TO LIFE.
The line up ranged from grime to soul. It was great to see and hear so many young gifted individuals show off their talent. I always love going to events in Cardiff as you feel a real sense of community, I lived in Cardiff for a couple years and after moving away and coming back to this event with a different perspective, I could feel it stronger than ever. Vibes and Bubble brought the vibes, and I would love to see more events like this in Cardiff.
NEW WAVE.
Cardiff based, fresh rap duo Gino K and Jordi Jord make up New Wave. It's safe to say New Wave brought energy to this event and you could see they were having fun performing, which made the audience vibe with them even more. They performed their single 'War' which is a BANGER, as well as some new unreleased singles.
For Gino, music has always been a passion, from being involved in church and with his brother being part of a group called Flowdem, this inspired him to explore creating his own songs. Being naturally confident he has always been interested in the stage and performing.
Jordi got introduced to making music when he moved back to Germany for a year. There was a group in his local area which started a buzz and inspired him to write his own music.
The pair would describe their sound as alternative rap, with each of their singles having a different style in the genre of rap. Their stage presence is high energy and engaging, with their vibrant personalities shining through!
What made you form a duo rather than being 2 individual artists?
"Individually we are both talented and have an ear for good music. Both being from Africa and coming to Germany and the UK, we have been able to hear a vast array of sounds and put them together to make our own. Our different backgrounds but relatable story allowed us to build chemistry and form a duo" .
How do you balance being a university student and independent artist, Gino?
"Balancing uni and being an independent artist can be challenging but I have found over time it gets easier. Managing releases, in terms of video production, marketing and promotion with uni deadlines as well can be difficult, but taking regular days off and having fun allows me to let out excess energy so I can focus and organise".
New Wave are currently working on dropping their first music video of the year for their recent single 'Different'.
’Different’, was written to describe Gino and Jordi's upbringing and talk about their experiences during the early years of their lives, which made them different from everyone else. Keep in the loop for the visuals coming out on the 11th March.
A plan for their debut EP is also in the pipeline. Their main goal for the next 2-3 years is staying consistent with getting in the studio and releasing music in order to find their sound and market, and create a collection of music that people will love and enjoy.
